TEACHING

Playing the guitar can feel tedious, and it really shouldn’t.

Throughout many years of performing, Jeff has met numerous music enthusiasts who often lament having given up music lessons when they were younger, and these stories share a common theme: lack of student input and choice.

Jeff’s approach to teaching the guitar is a simple one, rooted in the concept of intrinsic motivation. Let’s start with what you already love and go from there. What are you most curious about? Starting from scratch? Let Jeff help instill a strong foundation for you to explore your interests.

Lesson materials are personally curated and created to reflect your current and evolving musical interests. No two students are the same, and neither should lesson materials.

As a mature student, I wasn’t sure how easily I’d take to formal guitar lessons, but Jeff made the process feel approachable, enjoyable, and most importantly, possible. He’s not only a gifted musician but an exceptionally patient and intuitive teacher. Jeff tailors each lesson to where you are, not where a method book says you should be, and he balances technique, theory, and fun in a way that keeps you engaged and motivated. His calm, encouraging style makes it easy to ask questions, make mistakes, and actually enjoy the learning curve. I can’t recommend Jeff highly enough for anyone, at any age, who wants to learn guitar in a supportive, skillful environment. - Leslie Bradford-Scott"
